Winner of six letters, James T. Brown starred  at Temple in baseball and basketball. He played three varsity seasons in both sports. He made the Eastern Intercollegiate Basketball Conference All-Star team in the 1933-34 and 1934-35 seasons. He led the conference in scoring as a senior when he received mention on the All-American team. He batted .340 during his three year baseball career at Temple, hitting three home runs in one game against Bucknell in 1935. He played pro baseball and basketball following his 1935 graduation. He has also distinguished himself as a basketball and baseball coach and as a basketball referee. He starred in baseball, basketball and football at Southern High School before coming to Temple, and is a member of Southern's Athletic Hall of Fame. He earned all-Public League Honors in all three sports.
