PHILADAELPHIA - Looking to extend its streak of home-opening wins to five, Temple men's basketball will take on Kent State Monday, Nov. 11 at 7:00 p.m. as part of the ESPN Tip-Off Marathon. The game between the Owls (1-0) and the Golden Flashes (1-0) will be live on ESPNU for the first of what will be at least 28 nationally-televised contests for Temple this season.
Temple Athletics is partnering with the Temple University Alumni Association and their Global Day of Service at the home opener, and fans are encouraged to bring canned food items to the Liacouras Center Box Office. Items will be donated to Philabundance. Fans who bring canned food items will receive $5 off tickets (lower level baseline and upper level) for the game.
There will be a special guest in attendance at the home opener, with Stella the Owl set to make an appearance. Stella, a 3 1/2 year old great horned Owl, is Temple's new live mascot who lives at the Elmwood Park Zoo.
