AMBLER, Pa. – Temple men's soccer dropped its 2014 season opener to Drexel 1-0 in overtime at Ambler Sports Complex on Friday evening. Drexel's Michele Pataia scored the game-winning goal off a pass from Joaquin del Rosario in the third minute of overtime.
Both teams had chances throughout regulation. Drexel's goalkeeper Tyler Afflerback made four big saves in the first half as Temple outshot Drexel 9-5 in the first half.
Goalkeeper Dan Scheck made three saves of his own in the second half as both teams had their chances but couldn't convert.
The Owls return to action on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. against Sacramento State at Ambler Sports Complex.
