Men's Soccer Announces Impressive 14-member Recruiting Class

PHILADELPHIA — Temple University men's soccer head coach David MacWilliams welcomes an impressive class of 14 newcomers to the roster for the 2015 season.  This talented group represents six different states and four countries including Canada, Spain and Germany.

"We are really happy with the quality of our incoming class," said MacWilliams, who enters his 16th season at the helm. "It is a good mix of older and younger players that will provide the program depth at every position."

Midfielder/defender Kevin Klett (Muncie, Ind.) leads a group of five transfers who will join the Owls in the fall. Klett, who previously played for Valparaiso, appeared in 15 games with two starts for the Crusaders, scoring one goal. He was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in his first year. As a high school player at Muncie Burris, Klett received all-district and all-state honors as a sophomore and junior, and was a member of sectional champion teams his junior and senior years. While playing for Carmel United Soccer Club, Klett helped bring home two state cups.

Traveling from Spain and the European University of Madrid is junior forward/midfielder Jorge Gomez. A top-notch scorer, Gomez played for UD Talavera on various youth teams, as well as the Osasuna youth team at the U18 level where he reached the Copa Del Rey Youth Cup Quarterfinal. On that team, Gomez was the second-leading scorer with 20 goals.

Sophomore defender Tanner Giles-Tucker (Silver Springs, Md.) will join the Owls after playing his freshman season at American University. Giles-Tucker appeared in four games for American and was a Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection. He played his prep career at Blake High School and is Blake's all-time leading scorer.

Junior defender Carlos Moros Garcia is a strong, physical defender out of Valencia University in Spain.  He has been a mainstay with the Valencia C.F. Academy for over a decade.

The Owls' final transfer, junior midfielder Justin Stoddart, played two seasons at Lewis and Clark Community College. A native of Brampton, Ontario, Stoddart started all 20 games, scoring nine goals and recording four assists in his freshman season. During his sophomore year, he earned honorable mention honors for Region XXIV,
with seven goals and two assists. Prior to his time at Lewis and Clark, Stoddart played club soccer with Sigma FC in Toronto, Ontario.

Belal Mohamed, a midfielder out of Parkland High School in Allentown, Pa, is one of nine incoming freshmen.  As a senior at Parkland, Mohamed was named first team all-conference and posted 22 assists, which ranked him third in the state. Playing for Lehigh Valley United, Mohamed was part of seven consecutive state titles.

Nicholas Jachwak, a product of Souderton, Pa., and Souderton High, adds to the Owls' defensive line. Jachwak was a starter for the varsity team as a freshman, and played club soccer with Lehigh Valley United from 2009 until 2012 where he helped his team win three straight state titles (2010-12).  He also played for FC Delco Academy and the Philadelphia Union Academy.

A heralded recruit from Palos Verdes High in California, Zen Roten, is expected to provide some offensive punch for the Owls. During his senior season, Roten scored 10 goals and recorded 10 assists to earn the Captain's Award, CIF All-Area first team honors, and the Bay League Most Valuable Player award.  Roten was also an AP scholar at Palos Verdes. He played for Strikers Academy, making one trip to the Final Four tournament.

Jordan Wix-Rauch (Hummelstown, Pa.) comes to Temple from Hershey High School where he earned numerous honors including Mid Penn Conference Player of the Year, Keystone Division Co-Player of the Year and First Team All-Star. He was Hershey's Offensive Player of the Year as both a freshman and junior. Wix-Rauch was also named to the NSCAA All-East Regional Team.

Rockville, Md., native Kismet Tuli joins the Owls after playing for Bethesda Soccer Club, MSC Magic and the Pachuca Dragons as well as Walter Johnson High School. Tuli was the top scorer on his club team and participated in an invitation-only training camp with Sporting Gijon, earning a three-star prospect rating on Top Drawer Soccer.

Midfielder/forward Trevor Babin (Shelton, Conn.) comes to Temple after playing at various levels for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) for four years. Babin was invited to and attended seven U.S. Soccer Market Training Centers and was featured in the 2015 Boys IMG Academy 150 Player Pool in Sept., 2013 on Top Drawer Soccer. Top Drawer Soccer also gave Babin a four out of five star player rating, ranking him 15th in the northeast region.

Goalkeeper Marko Urosevic played for TSF Academy in New Jersey and earned a number of opportunities to play internationally in Brazil and Spain. With TSF, Urosevic won a New Jersey State Cup, was a Dallas Cup semifinalist, a finalist in the National Premier League (NPL) and earned a No. 1 ranking in 2013.

Fellow goalkeeper Robin Goetz comes to Temple from Germany, where he played for the FC Augsburg youth team of Bundesliga from U15 to U19. Goetz helped lead his team to wins at the Inverness Football Festival in Scotland and the Raiffeisenbank Ravensburg Cup, beating Zenit St. Petersburg, Hanover 96, and Red Bull Salzburg along the way.

The final addition to the Owls' roster for the 2015 season is U18 German National Team member Hermann Doerner. Also the captain of the Eintracht Frankfurt U19 team, Doerner played in Bundesligh Süd/Südwest and competed against fellow recruit Robin Goetz. With the German National Team, Doerner competed against Serrbia, Israel, Moldovia and France.

The Owls begin the 2015 season on Aug. 18 in a home scrimmage against Lafayette at 10:00 a.m. After another scrimmage at Drexel on Aug. 22, the regular season begins for Temple on Aug. 28 at Manhattan.
