Temple Alum Brandon McManus Helps Denver Win Super Bowl 50

SAN FRANCISCO – Temple Football alum Brandon McManus completed a perfect postseason with a Denver club record three field goals and an extra point to help the Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers, 24-10 Sunday at Levi Stadium in Super Bowl 50.
McManus, who starred at Temple from 2009-12, connected on field goal tries of 34, 33 and 30 yards, the last giving Denver a 16-7 advantage midway through the third quarter. Following a fourth quarter Panther field goal, the Broncos scored a touchdown on a C.J, Anderson two-yard run. Peyton Manning then connected with Bennie Fowler to seal the win.
Perfect on all 10 of field goals attempts, McManus is the 14th former Owl to have played in the NFL's marquee game. Randy Grossman won all four Super Bowls that he played in for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Klecko won three championships with New England (2) and Indianapolis (1). Brock and James Parish were each in a couple. McManus makes it 16 Super Bowl rings worn by Temple Owls.
