Four Coaches Added to Football Staff

PHILADELPHIA -Temple head coach Geoff Collins announced four new members to his football staff Thursday; Dave Patenaude, Jim Panagos, Ryan Horton and Jordan Barber. These four coaches, along with head strength and conditioning coach David Feely, are the first five new hires to the Owls' 2017 football staff.

Patenaude who enters his 27th year of coaching collegiate football, will serve as the Owls' offensive coordinator. Patenaude is coming off of a five-year stint at Coastal Carolina University, where he served as the Chanticleers' offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach from 2012-16.  He also has previous coaching experience at Georgetown (2010-11), Hofstra (2007-09), Holy Cross (2004-06), New Haven (2002-03), Columbia (1998-01), Fordham (1994-97) Springfield College (1992-93) and United States Coast Guard Academy.

Panagos will begin his first season at Temple as the defensive line coach. The Brooklyn native is coming to the Owls after being part of the University of Pittsburgh's defensive coaching staff for one season. He also has previous coaching experience at Rutgers (2012-15), UCF (2007-11), Minnesota Vikings (2002-05) and  C.R. James Alternative School (1994-97).

Horton enters his first season at Temple as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.  He is coming from Elon University where he served as the director of strength and conditioning for the Phoenix from 2014-16. Horton has previous experience at FIU (2008-11) and Tennessee (2004-08).

Barber will join the program as another assistant strength and conditioning coach. He previously interned with the University of Maryland's football team during the 2016 season. The Baltimore, M.D., native also interned for his alma mater Towson from 2015-16.
