PHILADELPHIA - In a huge conference match, Temple (6-6-2) ended up getting a 2-0 victory over Houston (5-7-1). It was senior forward Gabriella McKeown who scored the first goal for the Owls just 14 minutes into the game. The Owls kept their foot on the gas pedal, scoring a goal just three minutes later. The goal was scored by freshman midfielder Emma Wilkins. Redshirt senior forward Kayla Cunningham tallied an assist on both goals, and for the rest of the match, the Owls held tough defensively.

"It was one of the toughest losses for us last year," said Temple head coach Seamus O'Connor about their matchup with Houston. "So it felt really good to get the three points off of them because they are a strong team in this conference."

"They did phenomenal," said O'Connor of his defense. "I think the addition of Molly Tobin at defensive midfield was key in the second half and I thought she did a great job." "Overall it was very rewarding that they got the shutout because of how hard they worked throughout the game."
