NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Temple women's soccer saw its scoreless streak end at 358 minutes on a goal by Central Connecticut State's Danielle Pearce and the visiting Owls (4-4-1) fell to the Blue Devils (4-5), 1-0, on Saturday night.
Keys to the Match
> Temple had the better of play in the first half with eight shots and three on goal, but were unable to find the bacl of the net.
> Held to just three shots in the first half, CCSU came out strong offensively in the second half. Pearce had a shot in the 51st minute that Temple goalkeeper Morgan Basileo (3 saves) made a strong save on.
> Pearce's lone goal came in the 59th minute on a three-on-two breakaway. It was assisted on a nice feed in the box by Kelly Halligan.
> Temple out-shot CCSU, 13-9, but Blue Devil goalkeeper Ashley Cavanaugh (5 saves) was up to the challenge.
> Kerri McGinley had the best chance for the Owls to tie the match, but her shot in the 79th minute was deflected wide left.
