Track and Field Completes Day One of 49er Classic

3.17.18 | Women's Track and Field

Charlotte, N.C. – Temple track and field completed its first day of competition at the 2018 49er Classic on Friday hosted by UNC Charlotte. Junior Katie Leisher captured the individual title in the 10,000-meter run, placing first out of 25 participants.

100m Hurdles
> Sophomore Ebonee Jackson finished in the top 10 with a time of 14.54.

100m
> In the 100-meter dash, Jackson clocked  12.16 to finish 15th

400m
> Junior Ashton Dunkley was the Owls' top finisher in the 400-meter dash with a 57.45.

400m Hurdles
> Williams and Brown were Temple's top finishers in the 400m hurdles placing 17th (1:05.56) and 18th (1:05.74).

1500m
> Millie Howard placed second overall with a time of 4:24.82.

3,000m Steeplechase
> Sophomore Grace Moore grabbed the No. 2 spot with a time for 10:48.24.
Freshman Lucy Jones and senior Katie Pinson placed fourth (10:49.96) and fifth (10:51.37) respectively.

10,000m
> Leisher clocked a time of 35. 59.21 to place first overall.

Day Two
> Temple track and field will be back in action for day three of the 49er classic on Saturday, Mar. 17. 
>The Owls' will kick off their second day of competition with the 800m at 12:50 p.m.
