Football Holds Annual Pro Day

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple Football program held its annual Pro Day on March 19 as its 2017 Seniors performed in front of NFL personnel. Nearly every NFL team was represented with 30 teams sending a collection of nearly 40 total scouts.
The 2017 senior class was the most successful in Temple history winning 33 games over the last four seasons. Following in the footsteps of the last two classes which produced a total of six draft choices and over a dozen professional players, the talent in this class is deep.
Many eyes were on defensive back Sean "Champ" Chandler, who was selected to perform at last month's NFL Combine. Wide receivers Adonis Jennings and Keith Kirkwood also previously displayed their potential in front of the NFL talent evaluators at the Senior Bowl back in January. However, 12 additional Owls spent the past three months training for this opportunity to open some eyes.
Defensive tackle Jullian Taylor (29 reps of 225-lb. bench press) and offensive tackle Cole Boozer (26 reps) stood out throughout the day. Boozer, who was the only player to play every snap on either side of the ball last season, continued to train at Temple under the supervision of Temple's strength and conditioning coaches while finishing his master's degree.
OL Brian Carter, DE Sharif Finch, CB Artrel Foster, OL Leon Johnson, CB Mike Jones, LS Josh Lang, LS Corey Lerch, DE Jacob Martin, FB Nick Sharga, and OL Adrian Sullivan also participated. Sharga impressed the scouts by also showcasing his long snapping skills.
The group had all their measurements taken (height, weight, reach, hand size), and were tested in several drills (bench press, broad jump, vertical, shuttles, 40-yard dash) before participating in position specific drills.
The NFL Draft will take place in Dallas, Texas, on April 26-28.
