Golf Finishes 6th at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – Redshirt junior John Barone and freshman Dawson Anders each shot a one-under 70 Saturday to lead Temple Golf to a sixth place finish at the 12-team Princeton Invitational. As a team, the Owls were nine strokes better than the previous day, compiling an even-par 284 at the 6,415-yard, par-71 Springdale Golf Club.
Keys to the Tournament
> Barone, who carded a 74 on Friday, had a team-best five birdies, including one on the final hole, to tie for 16th overall with a two-over 144.
> Junior Gary McCabe, who shot a three-over 74 Saturday, tied Barone for team honors with a 144.
> Senior Mark Farley, competing in just his second tournament of the year, was even par Saturday and placed third on squad with a three-over 145 to tie for 20th.
> Anders was one shot back with a 146 to finish in a tie for 23rd place while junior Trey Wren shot consecutive rounds of 74 to tie for 37th among the 69-man field with a six-over 148.
> Temple's 284 was its second best round of the season. The Owls shot a 282 in their final round of the Cornell Invitational to win the team title in their season-opening tournament.
> The Owls were two shots out of third place and seven behind Yale which captured the team title with a two-over 570.
> Cornell's Mike Graboyes won the individual title with a six-under 136.
