Lacrosse's Nicole Latgis Invited to Play in IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

PHILADELPHIA - The IWLCA has announced the rosters for the 2018 Senior All-Star games, and Temple's Nicole Latgis, who will play for the North team, is one of the 44 players selected for Division I. The Senior All-Star games will be held on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 2, 2018. The Division I teams will play the first game at 11:30 am, and the contest will be web-streamed live on IWLCA-tv.com.
Latgis has racked up the awards after an outstanding senior season on defense for the Owls. She was named to the IWLCA All Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team, the All-ECAC Second Team and the BIG EAST Conference First Team.

Also a Preseason All-BIG EAST Team at the start of the season, Latgis was among the league's very top defenders all year long. She led all players in the BIG EAST with 2.24 caused turnovers per game and 3.18 ground balls per game, ranking 11th in NCAA Division I in caused turnovers and 14th in ground balls. She finished the season with 38 caused turnovers to rank fourth all-time at Temple in a single season. With 64 caused turnovers in her career, Latgis ranks eighth all-time. Â
Also strong on the draw, Latgis tied for second on the team this year with 41 draw controls. She achieved her first career point as a senior with an assist in the Owls' 12-8 season-opening win vs. Rutgers. She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on March 27 after the Owls upset #22 Denver and recorded a double-overtime win vs. Cincinnati.Â
Latgis graduated from Temple on May 10 with a degree in kinesiology, and was named to Temple's President's Honor Roll for a second year in a row for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or above.
