Start Times Revealed for Six Football Games

PHILADELPHIA – The American Athletic Conference announced the starting kickoff times for the first three weeks of the 2018 season, along with several primetime contests and other match ups. Among the announcements were six of Temple's 2018 contests.
The Owls will begin the season with an ESPNews broadcast of its opening day tilt on Saturday, September 1, at noon against Villanova at Lincoln Financial Field. Temple will remain at home the following week to host Buffalo at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN3.
Temple will then travel to Maryland on Saturday, September 15, to take on the Terrapins at Capital One Field at noon. That game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
The Owls will return home on Thursday, September 20, to host Tulsa at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN. Temple's other primetime game – on Thursday, November 1, at UCF – will also kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and also air on ESPN.
Temple will return to Annapolis to play Navy at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for the first time since defeating the Midshipmen, 34-10, in the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship Game. This year's match up will take place on Saturday, October 13, at 3:30 p.m. on CBSSN.
The Owls are coming off three straight seasons with a winning record and a bowl berth. The 2017 season, Geoff Collins' first as head coach, ended with a 7-6 record and a 28-3 win in the 2017 Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl. Last year's defense ranked first in the conference in passing (206.8 ypg) and sacks (39), and were second in total yards (381.5), scoring (25.8), and tackles-for-loss (102). The Owls' offense finished with 3,273 passing yards and 5,046 total yards, which were second- and third-best in school history, respectively.
