PHILADELPHIA - Quentin Jackson, Jr., a 6-3, 180-pound guard who recently played at Tallahassee Community College, has signed an aid agreement to attend Temple University on a men's basketball scholarship.  The incoming junior is eligible to compete during the 2018-19 season.

"Quentin is a solid guard with a tremendous basketball IQ," said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy. "A good athlete, he gives us another option in a talented and deep backcourt."

Ranked as the seventh best player in the state of North Carolina and the third best point guard according to ESPN.com as a senior (2015-16) at Cape Fear Christian Academy, Jackson earned first-team NCISAA 1A All-State during his senior season while averaging 20.6 points per game.  In 2016-17, as a freshman at Charlotte, the Cary, N.C. native saw action in all 30 of games while making four starts. He averaged 5.5 points per game while topping double figures six times.  Jackson earned Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors on Jan. 2 for his performance in the 49ers victory over North Texas (12/31/16).  In that game he scored 17 points off the bench, including shooting 6-for-10 from the field and 2-for-2 from three. He also added five rebounds and four assists. His season-high of 19 points, also off the bench, came in the next contest against Rice (1/2/17).

Jackson transferred to Tallahassee for the 2017-18 season where he averaged 10 points and 3.1 assists per game. He appeared in 28 games, averaging 22.1 minutes, with 15 starts.

Temple returns nine letterwinners, including three starters, from its 2017-18 NIT team.
