Steve Leonard Named to NABC Honors Court for a Second Straight Year

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's basketball recent graduate Steve Leonard has been named to the 2017-18 NABC Honors Court, marking his second year in a row of achieving the distinction. The Honors Court recognizes those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year.
Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
Leonard, a native of Collegeville, Pa. (Perkiomen Valley), made the team two years ago as a walk-on. This past season he saw action in six games and got his first career start on Senior Day vs. UCF (Feb. 25). He made the most of it, hitting two early three-pointers for a career-high six points in just five minutes of action.
The media studies and production major graduated from Temple with a 3.43 cumulative grade point average.
