Wright Named to Hornung Award Watch List

7.26.18 | Football

PHILADELPHIA - The Louisville Sports Commission announced today the 2018 watch list for the Paul Hornung presented by Texas Roadhouse, recognizing the most versatile college football players in the country. Temple junior wide receiver Isaiah Wright was among 43 players named to the prestigious list.

In 2017, Wright became the sixth FBS player in the last decade to score five different ways during a season (receiving, rushing, passing, punt return and kick return). Wright led the team in receptions, 46, and finished second on the team in receiving yards with 668. He also rushed for 188 yards and a touchdown. Overall, Wright scored seven touchdowns and recorded 1,289 total all-purpose yards in 2017, averaging just over 99 total all-purpose yards per game.

The Paul Hornung Award, named after the football legend and Louisville native, is given
annually to the most versatile player in college football by the Louisville Sports Commission. The award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, is now in its ninth season and third season as an associate member of the NCFAA. This is the first time Wright has been named to a watch list.
