2014 (Sophomore): After starting at SS a year ago, asked for a switch to WR late this spring ... when injuries hit the safety position in summer camp, transitioned back to safety ... with an injury to Boye Aromire, got the start at SS in week 2 vs. Navy ... started nine games before an injury at Penn State sidelined him for the second half.
2013 (Freshman): Mid-year student who enrolled at Temple in January 2013 ... one of three true freshmen (Jarred Alwan, Jim Cooper) to play in every game ... made his first start (at SS) vs. Army ... earned a start @Rut. where his father and uncle were both 4-year starters.
High School: Played running back for coach Jim Stone at Blair Academy … graduated a semester early (Dec. 2012) … as a junior, rushed for 838 yards and 19 TDs as the Bucs went 7-0 overall … also made 4 INTs as a defensive back … played two seasons with nationally ranked basketball team.
Personal: Born Jihaad Pretlow on 3/15/94 … parents are Bayyinah Pretlow and Malik Jackson … father played football at Rutgers in the early 1990s … played Pop Warner football against Temple teammates Jahad Thomas and P.J. Walker … won the 2014 TUFB slam dunk competition ... business major.
