In his first year in charge of the men, Mauro revitalized the Owl men's tennis program, guiding the squad to a 17-8 record and a third-place finish at the 2006 Atlantic 10 Tournament. It marked a 14-win turnaround from the previous season and the highest conference finish by a Temple team since the 2000 season.

Last season (2023) was a record season for Mauro's Temple men's tennis team. Aside from coming up with 19 victories throughout the year, which only trails Mauro's 20 wins during the 2015-16 season, three doubles duos earned a spot in the top 10 pairs with the highest single-season dual doubles wins. Louis Gorregues/Hussein El Tawil achieved No. 1 as the tandem tabbed a new record of 19 victories. As the new No. 3, Thibault Frumholz/Leo Raquin tallied 17 wins. The tandem also earned a tied position for No. 10 as they won 9 matches in 2021. Marin Delmas/Gregoire Barety landed at No. 5 with 13 wins under their belt. 2023 marked the third consecutive year on the single-season dual doubles board for Delmas as he earned the No. 9 spot for his 10 wins with partner Juan Araoz in 2021 and tied for the No 10 slot for his nine wins with Gorregues.

Raquin also achieved the top slot in single-season dual singles wins as he earned a new record of 22 victories.

Frumholz, Delmas, and Gorregues also earned spots as top 10 Owls with the highest career dual single and doubles wins. With 44 singles and 40 doubles wins throughout his career, Frumholz finished his time as an Owl at No. 6 in career dual singles and No. 4 in career dual doubles. Delmas' 48 career dual singles wins earned him the No. 3 slot, while his 38 career dual doubles wins tabbed him at No. 5. Gorregues achieved No. 9 in career dual singles with 34 wins and No. 7 in career dual doubles with 32 wins.

From 2014-22, at least three Owls made the AAC All-Academic team. From 2011-13 and 2016-2022, at least three players were deemed ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Prior to Temple's switch to the American Athletic Conference, Mauro led twelve men's players to earn All-Atlantic 10 honors. 2012 graduate Filip Rams became just the second Temple player to earn four-straight all-league nods, and the first ever to make the first team all four years.

In 2010, Rams became the first Temple men’s tennis player to earn Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Performer of the Year honors since 1995.

Mauro has also seen three different players earn a spot on the Academic All-Conference team, including Kacper Rams in 2012.

The 2008-09 season was Mauro's first in charge of the women's program. The year prior, the squad won the Atlantic 10 championship. Despite 2008-09 being the first year that Mauro juggled coaching both programs, he led the women's team to a 17-6 overall record and second place finish in the conference tournament.

Under his tutelage, two women's tennis players have earned AAC Freshman of the Year. Alina Abdurakhimova was the first Owl to be granted this award in 2015. The most recent accolade was given to Maiko Uchijima in 2023. Mauro's women's players have also earned All-Atlantic 10 accolades 13 different times. In 2013 the Owls’ placed two players on the all-league teams with Alicia Doms making the first team and Yana Mavrina earning a spot on the second team.In addition, 2010 graduate Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova was a two-time member of the A-10 Academic All-Conference team.

2023 was also a record year for Mauro's women's tennis team. Uchijima is also one of the two Owls who achieved a spot on the board as one of the top 10 players with the highest single-season dual singles record. She earned the No. 1 spot after achieving a 15-1 record freshman year. With a 15-3 record, Jamie Wei tied for No. 7.

As of spring 2024, Evie Wei surpassed her recent No. 7 standing in career dual doubles wins, originally with 28, as she earned 12 dual victories this past season, achieving No. 2 with 40 wins.

In both men's and women's record books, Mauro's players dominate the majority of all record holders.
