Captain of the 1930-31 Temple basketball team, Albert Pearson has been an important part of the University since his undergraduate days. The physical education section of the complex at Broad Street and Montgomery Avenue is named Pearson Hall in his honor. A 1931 graduate of Temple, he captained the Owls to a 17-4 record. He earned all-State and all-Scholastic honors at Northeast High School, leading that team to a championship during the 1926-27 season. Following his graduation from Temple, he remained active and has served his Alma Mater in numerous capacities. He received the Distinguished Service Award in 1973 and was president of the General Alumni Association from 1974 to 1976. He was the first president of the Temple Varsity Club and was also president of the Basketball and Quarterbacks Clubs.
