Anthony Young was an outstanding defensive back for Temple during the 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984 seasons. Co-captain of the team, he held seven Temple records at the time and shared another. His records included leads in career pass interceptions (20), career punts returned (74), season punt returns (26, 1982, 1984), career punt return yardage (715), season punt return yardage (305, 1982), career punt returns for touchdowns (3) and season punt returns for touchdowns (2, 1982). He was tied for game punt return yardage (99 vs. Cincinnati, 1984). He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the National Football League draft.
