One of the most outstanding wrestlers in Temple history, Bill Hyman captured the 1985 NCAA heavyweight championship. Temple's first two-time All-American, he owned, at the time, the University records for most wins in a season (50) and career (129). The 1985 Temple Graduate also holds the school mark for most pins in a career (40). He was selected Temple's MVP three times. The Saddle Brook, NJ (Saddle Brook High School) product was the 1981 New Jersey State champion. He was a member of the United States wrestling team that competed in the 1985 Maccabiah Games in Israel, earning a gold medal there. He also ran in the 1996 NYC Marathon.
