Fifth highest scorer in Temple basketball history, Bill Kennedy earned All-American honors in both basketball and baseball. He led the basketball team in scoring as a junior (19.5 average), a senior (22.2) and was second as a sophomore (13.5). He finished his basketball career with 1,468 points. He won the Robert V. Geasey trophy as the Big Five's outstanding player in 1960. He was named to the All-Big Five team junior and senior seasons. As a defensive standout as Temple's centerfielder, he batted .414 in his junior season. He is considered one of the greatest all-around athletes in Temple history. He starred in football and basketball at Philadelphia's Lincoln High School and made the All-Public league first team in both sports at Lincoln High.
