Bob Harrington earned numerous honors and was captain of the 1963-64 team that won the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship and a NCAA Tournament berth. He played all 25 games that season despite suffering from a chronic left ankle sprain. He was selected an "Unsung Hero" by the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association Basketball Club. He was given honorable mention on the 1963-64 All Big Five team. He was twice named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference weekly All-East team, the second time after leading Temple to two wins that enabled the Owls to win the Middle Atlantic Conference title and the NCAA berth. He was selected to play in the second annual Basketball Bowl in 1964. A fine all-around player, he led the Owls in free throw percentage and assists besides contributing 10.1 points a game as a senior.
