A versatile athlete, Bob Peffle earned letters in baseball and soccer. He was a soccer first team All-American in 1968 and earned third team honors in 1967. For three years, Bob played soccer at Temple and led the Owls to the 1966 and 1967 NCAA Tournaments. In 1968, he was awarded the team captain and MVP for both Temple and the Middle Atlantic Conference. He was drafted by the New York Generals professional team. During the offseason of soccer, Bob played baseball at Temple during the 1967-68-69 seasons. He would then sign and play professionally with the Houston Astros organization. After his time in the major leagues, he became a teacher in the Philadelphia School District. Bob Peffle also was an award-winning high school coach in baseball, soccer and wrestling at LaSalle and Frankford High Schools.
