One of the best athletes to ever wear the Cherry and White, Darin Gerlach defied the odds in his quest to become a champion gymnast.

After injuring his knee during his junior year, Gerlach did not just make it back to competing as an Owl but would go on to win the 1998 NCAA Championship on the floor exercise.  He is just one of 12 temple gymnasts to accomplish this incredible feat.

Prior to his injury, Gerlach had already built an impressive Hall of Fame resume, earning NCAA All-America honors on the floor exercise as a freshman in 1995. He also won the 1996 EIGL title on the floor exercise.
