Donna Kennedy played four seasons of varsity basketball at Temple and was an outstanding all-around performer. Besides being a standout playmaker, she was also a dependable scorer. She was Temple’s all-time leader in assists at the time with 507. At one time, she held the University record for assists in one season with 151 in 1979-80. She also led Temple in assists during two additional seasons and had a career high 13 assists against Monmouth in 1983. She was once the ninth highest scorer in the history of women’s basketball at Temple, she scored 1,156 points. During the 1980-81 season, she scored a career high 38 points against Dalhousie. The 38 points was the highest total by a Temple player except for 41-point outburst by Marilyn Stephens-Frankly, another Owl Hall of Famer. At the time, she ranked fourth in career steals with 220 and averaged 2.1 steals per game. She led the Owls in free throw percentage (74.2) during the 1979-80 season. She was inducted into the Philadelphia Big Five Hall of Fame in 1991.
