Dorothy Schumann Plantholt

Dorothy Schumann Plantholt was a three-sport varsity athlete at Temple from 1945-49. She played center halfback on Temple's undefeated 1948 hockey team, as well as softball co-captain in1949. She was the All-College II and All-Philadelphia III athlete in hockey for 1948. She was the "Who's Who Among American University and College Seniors" recipient of 1949. She became president of Phi Delta Psi, a member of Magnet, Crown & Shield and Astron honorary societies. She was a charter member of the Philadelphia Board of Women Officials. She taught and coached hockey, basketball and softball at Prospect Park Jr.-Sr. High School and Upper Darby High School. From 1947 to 1959 she was an All-Philadelphia IV in hockey. She was listed again in the "Who's Who Among American Women" between 1957-59. She received her Master's degree in Library Science from Villanova University, 1972.
