Dr. Santee Ruffin was an outstanding track star at Temple University from 1952-1955. He earned four letters and was team captain in 1955. He held the Temple record in the 220 yard low hurdles. He was a medalist in the 220 low hurdles at the IC4A championships in 1954 and 1955. He was a medalist in the 440 yard hurdles twice at the Penn Relays. He represented Temple in 13 events over four years at the Penn Relays. He was invited to compete in all major invitational meets as a junior and senior. In 1957 he was ranked among the top hurdlers in the nation in both the low and high hurdles.
