Ed Danser was the 1941 NCAA champion in calisthenics (later known as free exercise and floor exercise) in the first year this event was contested. Temple took fourth place in the team championships as he finished third in the Side Horse and sixth in the All-Around. In 1940,  he helped the Owls take second place by finishing second on the Side Horse, third on the Parallel Bars and fourth in the All-Around at the NCAA championships. He captured the All-Around title at the 1940 Eastern Intercollegiate Gymnastics League championships. He was the winner of the prestigious TU Award and was named one of the Ten Outstanding Seniors in his class. He practiced Law in Easton, PA for 35 years before moving to Arizona. He also starred at Germantown High School.
