Recognized as one of the greatest tackles ever to play for Temple University, Ed Kolman was named to three All-American teams and one of Pop Warner's top products. He played during the 1937-38-39 seasons and won three letters in football and one in wrestling. He was a member of the Eastern College All Star team that beat the New York Giants in 1940. He played in the 1940 East-West game. He signed pro contract with the Chicago Bears and played with George Halas's "wonder teams" of 1940-41-42. He also played with the New York Giants and was line coach following his playing career.
