Edna Brown-Hecht

Edna Brown-Hecht was one of the greatest track athletes in Temple's history. She was a four time All-American in outdoor track and three time All-American in indoor track. While running for the Penn Relays, Edna was the only athlete to ever become a champion five times. She was named Temple's Most Valuable Athlete for women's track and field athlete four times, 1978-82. She was the Penn Relays 400 meter hurdles champion 1979-82, 1984 and was four time college All-American, 1978-82.She was a two time Olympic Festival champion in 1981 and 1982. She was also a USA national champion in the 400 meter hurdles, 1979. She was a member of the USA Senior National Track & Field Teams in 1979, 1981 and 1982. She ranked in USA’s top ten for the 400 meter hurdles, 1978-1984.
