Florence C. Jackson
- Induction:
- 1983
Florence Jackson participated in three varsity sports while at Temple University during the early 1940s. The four years in which she starred for Temple, the field hockey squads racked up a 15-6-3 record, while basketball enjoyed a 32-3 ledger. That team lost three times to Immaculata; its only defeats. She also participated in softball and field hockey, where she served as captain for both sports. For more than 24 years, Florence was actively involved in coaching and has had several successful seasons in a variety of sports. While coaching at Clifton Heights High School, her field hockey teams recorded two undefeated seasons and her basketball teams in three years finished 20-8. She also introduced the sport of lacrosse to Clifton, which she coached for three years. At Friends Central, she coached field hockey, basketball, lacrosse, and softball. Florence earned Temple varsity letters in field hockey, basketball, and softball.
