Starring in football from 1926 to 1929 under Heinie Miller, competing in baseball from 1927 to 1930 under Walter Keating, playing basketball from 1928 to 1930 under Jimmy Usilton, Sr. and scoring in soccer during the 1926 season under Jim Neeley, Grover Wearshing is the winner of 11 letters, four each in football and baseball, two in basketball and one in soccer. He was captain of football and basketball teams in 1929-30. He set record by completing 28 of 32 passes in one game which stood for 40 years. He also hit over .350 as centerfielder for baseball team.
