As a three year starting halfback for Temple University’s Football team, Henry Hynoski earned honorable mention All-American honors as a senior in 1974. He also earned All-East honors as well. With 2,218 yards, Hynoski was Temple's  all-time rushing leader at the time of his graduation. He starred in the American Bowl game. After setting three records, he earned the North team's Most Valuable Player. Hynoski received the Owl Award and the Villanova Sportsmanship Award. After being drafted in the sixth round by the Cleveland Browns, his career came to an end with a shoulder injury. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.
