One of Temple's all-time football greats, Henry Reese gained All-American mention at Temple as a center. While starring for the Owls under Coach Heinie Miller, another Hall of Famer, he became known as "The Big Boy From Scranton." He sparked Temple to a 7-3 record in 1930 and to an 8-1-1 season in 1931. He played professional football with the New York Giants in 1933 and 1934 and with the Philadelphia Eagles from 1935 to 1940. He was a member of the coaching staffs of the Buffalo Bills and Brooklyn Dodgers in the American Football Conference. After leaving football, he remained active in the Eagles' and National Football League Associations. He died in August, 1975.
