Considered one of the finest all-around players in Temple basketball history, Jay Norman was one of 12 Owl players to score over 1000 points in his career. A three season starter, he finished with 1,024 points and also led the team in rebounds. He played on Temple's crack teams from 1956 to 1958 when the Owls rolled to third place finishes in two NCAA tournaments and one National Invitational Tournament. He made the All-Big Five team twice. He was a star football and basketball player at Mastbaum and a member of the Temple basketball coaching staff since 1968. He starred for years in the Eastern Professional Basketball League and was named to Big Five Hall of Fame.
