Jennifer Gowan

An all-around athlete, Jennifer Gowan competed in basketball and lacrosse. She played basketball from 1979-82 and was the 11th highest scorer at the time in Temple women's basketball history with 1,028 points. She played in 83 games and averaged 12.4 points a game. She earned second team All Big Five honors twice as a junior and senior. She was also cited as a Big Five Player of the Week. She had numerous outstanding games. She had a career high of 31 points against Immaculata College including 14 field goals. She ranked seventh all-time in career free throw percentage during her time, making 41.7 percent of her shots. She was the eighth in field goals made (460). She was given the Rose Vernick Scholar-Athlete Award. She earned All-American honors in lacrosse and played for the United States women's lacrosse team from 1980 to 1985. She has coached high school basketball and lacrosse and is involved in the United Way-Special Olympics and the March of Dimes.
