Jim Honochick tarred in both baseball and football. He has remained in public eye as one of the top umpires in major league baseball. He earned five letters as a Temple undergraduate, two came in football and three in baseball. He was an outstanding ball carrier in football and a hard hitter in baseball. He played pro baseball with Baltimore of the International League and became interested in umpiring, quickly moved up through the ranks. He took only three years to make the majors in the American League and umpired both World Series and All Star games and several world tours.
