First golfer named to Hall of Fame, John Dyniewski was a member of the Temple golf team in 1949, 1950 and 1951 and considered one of the finest athletes in Owl history. He was team captain in 1951 when Temple won the Middle Atlantic team championship and captured the individual crown. He led the 1950 golf team to a 7-1-2 record and sparked the Owls to an 8-2 season in 1951. He was the Philadelphia amateur golf champion in 1954, 1955 and 1963 and the Pennsylvania State amateur champion in 1959 and 1960. He reached the quarter-finals of the 1951 NCAA championships and has been a member of several Mason-Dixon and Compher Cup Teams.
