John MacDonald

John MacDonald starred in both golf and soccer at Temple. He competed in golf from1963 to 1965, captaining the squad as a senior. He played soccer at Temple from 1962 to 1964 and was co-captain as a senior. He was coach of the Temple golf team for the 16 years and during that span the Owls have achieved national recognition and tremendous success. Twelve of his 16 squads have earned NCAA Tournament invitations as the representative of District II. He was named District II Coach of the Year for 1986. He has had All-American status bestowed 20 times on 10 of his players. Under his tutelage, Temple has been the Eastern Invitational Tournament champion five of six years in which the tournament was held. Temple has won two Atlantic 10 Conference championships under his direction. He is the president and general manager of Impact Services, Inc. which is devoted to community and economic development.Â
