John Waller was one of the finest passers in Temple football history and held eight school records during his time. He combined with Jim Callahan to give the Owls one of the nation's top passing attacks from 1966 to 1968. His records included most passes completed in one game (35), most touchdown passes one game (6), longest scoring pass play (90 yards to Callahan), most yardage gained passing in a game (440), most touchdown passes in a career (45), most passes attempted one season (367), most pass completions one season (174) and most interceptions in one season (25). He came to Temple from Ridley Township High School where he earned All-County, All-Scholastic, All-State and All-American honors. As a senior there, he completed 108 of 180 passes for 2,059 yards and 27 touchdowns. He has been active in teaching and coaching.
