Katherine Geary Gradick

A hockey participant at Temple for two years, Katherine Geary Gradick was captain of the team her senior year. She competed in Mid-Atlantic Track Championships for seven years and was a member of All-American track team from 1944-46. She was a qualifier for 1948 Olympic Games. She equaled Women's 60 yd. dash record in 1948. She was coach of hockey, bowling, basketball, volleyball, softball, also coached boys' basketball and baseball teams. She was the teacher of P.E. for 25 years and was the first and only woman secondary school principal in Florida from 1966-71. She was the district chairman for Florida High Schools Athletic Association in girls' softball and boys' baseball and basketball for seven years and played hockey until 1954.
