Oliver, Len

Len Oliver

A three-time soccer All-American, Len Oliver also earned three baseball letters while starring for Temple. He was a standout on Temple's 1951 and 1953 National Championship Soccer teams that were undefeated. He started for the Temple varsity as a freshman and captained the team at the Soccer Bowl where the Owls defeated San Francisco, 2-0. He made the All-American Team in 1951, 1953 and 1954. The Owls lost only three soccer games during his four varsity seasons. He played center field in baseball and captained the team in 1955. He made the Pan-American Soccer Team in 1963 and the US Olympic Team in 1964. Following his graduation from Temple, he played professional soccer and earned numerous honors. While in the service, he played against many of the top soccer teams in Europe and saw action in numerous countries. He also starred for Northeast High School, winning All-Scholastic honors twice and making the All-Public League Team three times.
