One of the best "little men" ever to play football for Temple, at 5'6", 155 pounds, Leon Whittock was a triple threat star from 1930 to 1932. He ran, passed and kicked for the Owls under Heinie Miller and Pop Warner. He led Temple to an 8-1-1 record as a junior when selected Pennsylvania's top collegiate quarterback. He received All-American mention and was picked to play in the North-South Classic. He was also outstanding in baseball at Temple. He led the Owls in batting in 1932 as a left-handed hitting catcher and he received several professional baseball offers but a knee injury ended career.
