Marie Oliver Gimmi

Marie Gimmi was an outstanding athlete and letterwinner in field hockey, basketball and softball 1948-52. From 1948 to 1950, the Temple field hockey teams recorded 8-0 seasons. The cumulative victory record for four varsity hockey squads was 31-1. After graduating Temple, she became a member of the U.S. National Team of Field Hockey where she played left wing. She was an All-College I athlete from 1949-51, an All-American in 1951 and named West Jersey I and New Atlantic I from 1954-64. She was a nationally-ranked referee in hockey and basketball for 25 years. In 1974, she was chosen to officiate the only New Jersey State Girls Basketball Championship. Since then she has become an Elementary educator in the Cherry Hill N.J. School System.
