Temple's most valuable gymnast in 1963, 1964 and 1966, Mark Cohn captured numerous championships. He was the Eastern Intercollegiate Parallel Bars champion in 1963 and High Bar Champion in 1966. He took second place in the 1966 NCAA All-Around competition. In 1967, he was first in Side Horse, second in Still Rings and third in the All-Around in the Pan American Games. In 1965 he took the All-Around and a total of 10 medals at the Maccabiah Games in Israel and in 1969 he repeated the All-Around championship. He started his gymnastics career at the Germantown Y.M.C.A. under former Temple star John Gallante and participated on two national championship teams. He was a President's Scholar and an Outstanding Senior in 1966 when he was the recipient of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Award for Scholarship and Athletic Prowess. He was elected to Temple's French and Mathematics honor societies and Temple's Sword Society.Â
