Mary Ann Leight Harris earned nine letters in her four- year athletic career here at Temple University. She is best known for field hockey. A graduate of North Penn High School, she became a moving force in the rapid development of the Women's United States Field Hockey program. She was a member of the National Squad from 1958-1973. She captained the squad from 1971-1973. She was named All-American in both her junior and senior years and represented the United States in three International Conferences for field hockey. She won numerous awards while at Temple, including TU Blazer Award, Owlette Award, Four-year Hockey Award and also Alumnae Award all in 1961.
