One of the most beloved men and voices in Temple athletics history, Merv Jones served as Temple’s public address announcer for 21 years, from 1998 through 2019.

A 1988 graduate of Temple University, Jones served as an adjunct professor at Temple, and also worked in the sports media relations office for four years from 2000 through 2004. He had such a commanding presence as a PA announcer, that he was asked to serve in that capacity for NCAA men's basketball tournament games in 2006 and 2012, as well as the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Philadelphia Regional.
