Mike Hinnant

A three year starter at tight end, Mike Hinnant was an outstanding blocker and dependable pass receiver. He earned numerous honors and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 1987 as a senior, he was Associated Press honorable mention All-American, first team AP All-East and Sporting News All-American. He had 10 catches for 170 yards and one TD. He was also AP honorable mention All-American and first team AP All-East in 1986. He was honored as Temple's Most Valuable Player after the 1987 season and picked team captain. He was selected to play in the Blue-Gray game. During his pro career, he was with the Steelers, Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League and the Barcelona Dragons of the World Football League. He was a graduate assistant and volunteer coach at Temple. He was assistant football coach at Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1993 and 1994.
