Morris Katz starred for the Temple football team under another Owl Hall of Famer Glenn S. (Pop) Warner. Katz was an outstanding lineman for Temple during the 1936, 1937 and 1938 seasons. He co-captained the Owls during the 1937 and 1938 seasons. He made numerous All-Opponent teams and was a workhorse performer, playing center on offense and linebacker on defense. A product of Brooklyn's Boys High School, Katz was the school's most valuable player in 1934. He played for Boy's High in 1933 and 1934 and was team captain as a senior. He was a Heavyweight Wrestling champion of New York City in 1934. Katz has remained active at the University since his graduation. He is a past president of the Temple Varsity Club and current president of the Quarterback Club.
